Linux is a Unix-like computer operating system. Linux is one of
the most prominent examples of free software and open source
development; typically all underlying source code can be freely
modified, used, and redistributed by anyone.
The Linux kernel was first released to the public on 17 September
1991, for the Intel x86 PC architecture. The kernel was augmented
with system utilities and libraries from the GNU project to create a
usable operating system, which led to an alternative term, GNU/Linux.
Linux is packaged for different uses in Linux distributions, which
contain the sometimes modified kernel along with a variety of other
software packages tailored to different requirements.
Predominantly known for its use in servers, Linux is supported by
corporations such as Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Novell, Oracle
Corporation, Red Hat, and Sun Microsystems. It is used as an
operating system for a wide variety of computer hardware, including
desktop computers, supercomputers, video game systems, such as
PlayStation 2, 3, several arcade games, and embedded devices, such as
mobile phones and routers.

It
is evident that business process outsourcing or BPO is one of the more
prominent industries now in the Philippines. The country is fast
becoming both a regional and global docking point for most shared
corporate back office operations, with particular emphasis on financial
services. However, there is also a great demand for the various
services in the fields of facilities and real estate management, human
resources and information technology. Non-core business functions are
now being channeled as well, and these can come in the forms of call
center and / or customer support functions like: customer services,
manufacturing and engineering, market research and telemarketing. Financial Tasks There
are many back-office tasks that are now routinely being delegated to
over 620 BPO operators in the Philippines; and as earlier stated, a
great majority of them concerns accounting, bookkeeping, logistics and
some other areas within the financial department. Some
of the usual tasks assigned include: account maintenance; accounts
payable administration; accounts receivable collection; accounting;
asset management; auditing; basic and more specified bookkeeping;
expense and revenue reporting; financial analysis; financial reporting;
payroll processing and tax-reporting. Other
BPO operators even specializes in such finance-related services like
cargo shipment management; credit card administration; factoring and
stock brokering; financial leasing; inventory control and purchasing;
logistics management, and management consulting. Manpower and Location Literally,
many clients subscribe to outsourcing services in the Philippines
because of its rich pool of talents. BPO operators are continually
hiring and training college graduates to fill in the demand for English
and IT proficient representatives. Many of these are degree holders in
Accounting, Business Administration, English, Engineering, Hotel and
Restaurant Management, Information Technology, Management, Math, etc.
In the 2001 World Competitiveness Report, it shows that the Philippines
emerged in the 16th place in a list of 49 countries under the heading of International Business Experience. In
addition, due to the low cost of living expenses in the Philippines,
BPO operators can afford to guarantee their clients quality work at
very much reduced rates. Other
factors that make outsourcing in the Philippines one of the most
attractive options is the fact that its manpower: has high superior
work ethics; has a high degree of loyalty, trainability, flexibility,
multicultural adaptability; and is very much marked for their customer
service orientation. The
Philippines is also a great location for many BPO operators; this fact
in turn translates to being a benefit for its clientage. There are a
number of prime yet low-cost real estate in the country. In addition to
that, there is also an increasing number of cost-competitive
telecommunications and transportation infrastructure available to
various outsourcing companies. kanati.com.ph At
Kanati Inc. all these favorable conditions are matched with the
company’s progressively IT-supportive polices and incentives. Not only
is Kanati Inc. servicing its clients with streamlined policies using
the latest available Open Source technology, it is also helping to open
new markets for other e-entrepreneurs as well. This
is primarily the reason why new and upcoming companies are seeking the
services of Kanati Inc. The company knows pretty well how to balance
the needs of the clients with the demands of the markets: through web
development and web-based marketing strategies. Kanati Inc.
December 19 At Kanati Software Development, these back office tasks are supported by its own back office system; one that uses Web Based Open Source Technology. This is a system that uses secure e-commerce
software; one that processes the clients’ information or data base
through data encoding. This back office system keeps records of sales,
purchase transactions and performs inventory updates when necessary.
Some of the more likely tasks assigned to Kanati Software Development
are data encoding reports, creating invoices, keeping receipts and
bookkeeping. Internal business functions are also part and parcel of
Kanati Software Development’s workload – anywhere from the usual back
office tasks (such as billing and / or purchasing); and front office
tasks (such as customer-related services such as marketing and tech
support.)
Kanati
Software Development certainly understands the importance of building
and maintaining databases and directories for any company, whether they
are business-related, education-related or a web-based research
organization. Through a combination of the best streamlined web-based
open source technology and a team of brilliant and highly skilled
workers, Kanati Software Development manages pertinent information that
can ultimately help their clients keep one step ahead from the rest of
the pack.
Part of Kanati Software Development’s Data Encoding Services includes:
Web-based
data capture service - online data entry, Internet Research, reporting,
remote data verification, online data retrieval and / or identification
of the specified product or service and adding them to the client’s
website database through content management tools. Catalog
and database management – the preparation of online catalogs and
creating red flag reports. These are usually done via online
data-retrieval, the identification of source URLs, Internet searches,
and weeding out irrelevant portions from the clients’ websites or
databases. Kanati Inc. December 18

With the advent of technology comes the
evolution of horse racing protocols. Telephones, telegraphs and
radios became essential tools in “broadcasting” the actual race through the wires. Back then, this technology had already enabled
some entrepreneurial minded players to establish off-track betting
stations. Bookies became mobile, often setting up shop where radios
were accessible. Certainty about the outcomes of the races could be
immediately established even if the players were not physically
present or anywhere near the race tracks. Other impertinent
information was also sent through the wires like the horses’
pedigree, trainers, owners, last races’ performances, handicap
details, etc – encouraging players to develop many types of
wagering systems.
The introduction of television to the
general public brought about a whole new dimension to both on and off
track racing. This technology literally brought the races “closer”
to the people, making it more exciting (especially since the players
could see the results for themselves.) Soon, off track betting
stations had televised races which eventually reached a larger
(betting) audience base.
These days, Internet “simulcasting”
of the races is the current trend in the horse racing industry.
Websites of the various race tracks and web-based pari-mutuel betting
stations simulcast the outcomes of the races, along with providing
players with the odds for the horses, and other information
traditionally displayed in daily racing forms or DRFs. Not only is
this the quickest form of information dissemination, it is now also,
by far, the cheapest.
